pH value is one of the key factors affecting the efficiency of desulfurization reaction. By monitoring the pH value, the dosage of desulfurizers such as limestone slurry or ammonia water can be adjusted in real time to maintain the optimal pH value range (usually 5.0-6.2), thereby improving the efficiency of the desulfurization system.
During the wet desulfurization process, calcium sulfate (gypsum) is produced as a by-product. By precisely controlling pH, the quality of gypsum can be optimized, making it easier to separate and recover, while reducing the impact on downstream processing. So it is necessary to measure the pH value in this application.
